I just spent the day running a day "camp" for the whole families of kids with physical disabilities. We kicked off with a pancake breakfast, some parachute games (a timeless favourite of everyone!), a little Rocks & Rings (indoor small-scale curling for kids) and then headed outdoors in the sun (SUN!! Ahhh long lost sun!) for homemade soup & hot dogs around a campfire. After lunch, we went on a walk through the semi-snow-covered woods with accessible skis and what turned out to be a very tricky set of "sit skis" (you sit and cross country ski which is incredibly hard). Later, we worked on this super fun craft - tissue paper mosaics. We took stretched canvases, drew simple stained glass images of happy things like rainbows and tulips, and then took little cut up squares of tissue paper, scrunched them up and glued them on the pictures. So fun. When I took some of the kids into the gym to try out wheelchair basketball, I caught some of the parents working on the craft haha! It's ridiculously addicting. Also, zooming & spinning around in basketball wheelchairs is super fun. Dribbling while rolling, though, not so easy. I will learn. My job is awesome.
So, the day was a lot of fun and everyone had a great time but I'm completely zonked. All I want to do is watch old episodes of 30 Rock & my evening my dearest friend, Pinterest. (
Wanna see my boards? They're pretty extensive since I spent an excessive amounts of time working on them.)
Since I have no energy to write about anything right now, I present you with this - my favourite pins lately.
What a fun idea! I have an old globe somewhere...
This seems like quite an appropriate project w/ spring just around the corner.
Fun workout idea!
These lotion bars sound really easy to make and could make cute gifts!
I've always wanted to make lip balm & this is a really easy recipe.
"Vicks" shower discs! I so need to make these (so easy) for my stuffy nose!
I'm so doing this at camp this summer with the kids!
I snagged a couple of old frames at a flea market lately. Should make this!
How cute is this?!
Oh so fun project for old yard sale books that you'll never read.
Mini gnome! Don't know what I'd ever do with this but he's precious.
